Palimpsest of Phantasm: An imaginary art garden vol. 3 Fujita Noriko

“The countless illusions spun by artists and accumulated since ancient times will coexist in a complex way that overlaps and stimulates each other, and will continue to writhe and transform forever without stopping.
And they will continue to alter reality, shaking our stalemated daily lives.”

A faceless girl

A faceless girl, a kind of ghost of the concept of “girl”, releases its abyss and releases a mythical wonder into the outside world. The mysterious dream continues to multiply, and eventually it seems as if it is trying to take over the girl who is supposed to be the owner of the dream.

Sometimes a dream can transform into dark thoughts of eroticism while also harboring the poison of decadence.

In addition, sometimes a dream develops into that of laying eggs, and girls may be searching for their own mode of childbirth, which is different from that of her mother and seems to be modeled on birds.

2013 etching 53.5×69.5cm ed.15 ¥165,000

2015 etching 24×20cm ed.15 ¥44,000

While repeating various developments, girls’ dreams expand and gradually approach the dream of the womb… The power of dreams seems to be attempting to construct an amazing labyrinthine-like / Grotta-like womb cathedral… And deep within it lies the peace of dense darkness where life and death are married.

Noriko Fujita’s artistic practice, which resembles a delicate pointillist engraving as a tour of the womb, may be gradually approaching a kind of primitive ritual act.
